The Ground Type GM (RGM-79【G】) is a ground combat-specialized mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces during the One Year War (U.C. 0079) in the Japanese anime series *Mobile Suit Gundam*. Based on the RX-79【G】 Ground Type Gundam, the “G” in its designation signifies ground combat adaptability, primarily optimized for ground warfare with enhanced protection and terrain traversal capabilities.

As an emergency mass-production model, the Ground Type GM entered production in July U.C. 0079, with a total of 42 units produced and subsequently deployed to Southeast Asia and the Odessa front for base defense missions. Maintaining parts commonality with the Ground Type Gundam, its design incorporates reinforced armor, goggles-style sensors, and three-segmented articulated feet. Post-war, some decommissioned units were converted by Anaheim Electronics into technology verification platforms, gradually phasing out of frontline service with the proliferation of general-purpose mobile suits.
