Offline Dinosaur - laptop webcam privacy cover

Now we have on our laptops cameras always exposed and very few modern laptops have a default inbuilt physical cover.

So I had to design a solution - a privacy cover for laptop webcams, using the offline dinosaur!

The ideal funny way to cover your webcam and protect your privacy. It can easily slide aside to expose the camera.

I have included 3 models for the following widths of the laptop screens:

• 5mm - use 5.5mm cover
• 6mm - use 6.5mm cover
• 7mm - use 7.5mm cover

I have also added a parametric model you can use to design yourself the right cover - using this guidance:

Width - is the width of the cover - add 0.5mm to the width of your laptop screen

Length - must be bigger than 21mm - the length of the webcam cover

depth1 - the distance from the bottom of your webcam to the top of the screen

depth2 - the same as above for an alternative laptop or set it to 10mm+depth 1 for a better balance of the cover.

in the models there is also the dino alone, to be imported and printed together with this parametric file, once it is all setup.

These can be customised in the Parametric Model Maker by clicking on the customise button:

Depending on the properties of your filament, the dino will fix fit into the hole in the cover, or you might need to add a drop of superglue, or sand the support a bit.

Zucky asked me to print a few for him too - he got tired of using that rubbish cello tape.
