■ Background

One of the most frustrating aspects of using the XREAL One was the official insert lens system.
Each model requires its own insert lens, and every time I changed glasses, I had to order a new set.
This became costly and inconvenient, which led me to design a solution that allows me to use my everyday glasses with XREAL directly.

■ Design Concept

This adapter was created to securely mount the XREAL One onto your own glasses, without relying on official insert lenses.
By removing the XREAL’s nose pads and attaching this adapter to the bridge of your glasses, you can wear the headset comfortably and stably using your regular frames.

Simply removing the nose pads leaves only two points of support (the temples), making the device unstable.
This adapter adds the bridge as a third support point, greatly improving balance and stability.

■ What’s Included and How to Use

This model includes the following STL files:

  • Adapter.stl: Main adapter that holds the XREAL One
  • Bridge Cut Object.stl: A customizable cutout to match your glasses’ bridge

The included profile already contains the Bridge Cut Object pre-positioned as a template.
To personalize the fit, you only need to adjust its size and position according to your own glasses.

■ Adjustment Tips

When adjusting the Bridge Cut Object, keep these tips in mind:

  • Ensure your glasses’ frame and lenses do not touch the XREAL body by leaving enough clearance
  • Try to align the center of the XREAL lenses with the center of your eyeglass lenses for a natural viewing angle

This helps achieve both physical stability and visual comfort.

■ Recommended Filament

For best results, we recommend printing this model using TPU filaments.
TPU offers a soft, adaptive fit that is gentle on both your XREAL device and your eyeglass frame.
Its anti-slip nature also helps maintain stability during wear, reducing the chance of sliding or shifting.

■ Mounting Tips

After attaching the adapter to your glasses, the best way to mount the XREAL One is to gently “rest” its bridge into the the adapter.
Instead of forcing or snapping it in, let it settle into place naturally, aligning the shape of the bridge with the adapter for a secure fit.

■ Key Features

  • No insert lenses required – Use your own glasses
  • Model-agnostic – Compatible across XREAL models
  • Secure 3-point support – Adds bridge stability to prevent slipping
  • Lightweight and easy to attach/detach
  • Fully customizable – Adjust bridge cut to match your glasses
  • Cost-saving – No need to remake prescription lenses for each pair

■ Ideal For

  • Users frustrated with official insert lenses
  • People who change glasses often or use multiple pairs
  • Anyone who wants a seamless AR experience using their real glasses
  • Makers and hobbyists who enjoy customizing with 3D printing

■ Designer’s Note

This project was born from a personal need to escape the limitations of official accessories.
I hope it becomes a practical option for others facing similar issues and helps make your XREAL experience more comfortable and flexible.

⚠️ Disclaimer

This model is not guaranteed to fit all glasses or face shapes.
The Bridge Cut Object is designed to be adjusted in size and position to suit each user's glasses.
Please treat this as a customizable base model, not a universal fit.

Also, be aware that removing the XREAL’s nose pads and using this adapter is at your own risk.
