Stich
Print Profile(1)

Description
Today we present a 3D printed Stitch from Disney's Lilo & Stitch. Stitch is such an iconic character, and it was great fun to render him as a complete figure.
I modeled the entire piece in ZBrush in one go. It took about six hours from start to finish. I primarily used Dynamesh, subtly repositioning elements until I achieved the desired look. Then I exported the model and trimmed the bottom using Meshmixer for easier bed adhesion and printing.
I've included both the trimmed and complete models, should anyone wish to print in a different orientation. I printed it on a CR10 at a 0.5mm layer height. The top came out beautifully, but the bottom was quite poor. Chelsey had to file and sand extensively to smooth the rough areas, and there were several areas toward the base that she had to use putty to essentially resculpt the geometry to make it presentable. But she did an incredible job. After priming the fill, she used an airbrush for the main blue, then filled in all the details with acrylic paints and a paintbrush. Finally, once everything was dry, she applied a glossy clear coat.
