Description
My take on Thor's Mjolnir Fridge/Office Magnet.
2 versions:
The quick version is one piece, printed straight up and down, with the top of the hammer is the magnetic surface.
The angled/embedded version printed in 2 pieces, head and hammer, with the angled 45 degree surface being the magnetic one.
It uses 2 8mmx2mm magnets that are about 25 layers into the print, with a programmed stop to insert them.
CAUTION: The longer you leave it paused, the more likely you are to get a layer line there.
The head of the hammer is pretty acurate to the original movie prop size, obviously scaled down small enough to make sense as a fridge or office magnet. I did thicken the handle from the movie accurate dimensions, because at the smaller size it looked a bit silly.
I did go all out and have a design with a more accurate handle with the curved breaks in the “leather” but it took the print time from 90 min to 11 hours, which I doubt many people are going to do just to hold up some papers.
For my prints I used eSun Silver and Sunlu Coffee Brown PLA.
