Thedford Refrigerator Control Panel Cover

The Thedford Refrigerator features a highly sensitive touchscreen, which can be inadvertently activated or deactivated with ease.
The cover incorporates two hinges, two magnets, and two metal discs, achieving its function flawlessly after several prototype iterations.
The printed parts are made of PLA but can equally be produced using PETG or ABS.
Due to layer height tolerances, print with a maximum of 0.16mm!!

The following additional parts are required:

• Washer: 10mm outer diameter, e.g., M4x10mm (not stainless steel but zinc-plated steel washers for magnet adhesion), e.g.: https://amzn.eu/d/0lL1Weh

Hole tolerances depend on the printer; otherwise, adjust using X-Y hole compensation in the printer profile.

Assembly:

• Tolerances are designed to allow magnets and discs to be pressed into the holes (no adhesive required), using a light hammer (place a piece of wood underneath to protect the magnets). This firmly secures the magnets.
• The chosen magnets are exceptionally strong and entirely sufficient.
• Washer: This provides an inexpensive and straightforward counterpiece for the magnet.
• Attach the assembled cover to the touchscreen using double-sided adhesive tape.
