Description

This is version 12 of my Fire TV remote cover.  I have a large series of covers that I will be publishing.  Check my other models if you are interested in a different style.  This is the most complex of the series.

Key Features:

  • Can stand upright
  • Has flat end for room label
  • TPU inserts allow a bit of grip if you have a glass coffee table

This model is multiple parts.  There are TPU inserts that provide a bit of grip on the backside of the remote.  These are on a single print profile using parameters optimized for TPU.  Get that profile.

Find the other print profile associated with your model of remote.  I tried to use the names Amazon provides for the different remotes but there are a lot of them out there.

For people with rulers, measure the length of your remote and choose the print profile that matches:

158mm - Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced

151mm - 1st Gen Alexa Voice Remote

142mm - 3rd Gen Alexa Voice Remote

If you have a remote that does not fall in these lengths, PM me and I will make a model for you to use.

I do not have the new new new PRO backlight remote and I think it might be rounded a bit different.

Printing:

There are two plates to choose from:  One with a label and one without.  I put Bedroom on the sample.  Edit the Text to match your use case or PM me and I can do it for you.  This print plate requires two filaments for obvious reasons.

If you do not want a label, choose the second plate.  It prints one filament color.

The “window” in the cover top piece is based on the infill pattern.  I use 25% honeycomb and think other options are pretty neat to play with.  Gyroid works well too.

Assembly:

Remove tree supports from bottom cover.  Wait for the print to cool before trying this… I put the model in the freezer for a bit.  The supports come off easily when chilled.

Snap the TPU inserts into the bottom cover.  The lowest slot can be tricky. (Sorry)

Slide top cover over top of remote control.

Slide remote control into bottom cover.

Done.

Oh!  Please Boost me.  My cat likes to hide the remote and I think one of the pro find-me remotes would be a keen plaything.
