Description

Ratchet lace/rope tensioning mechanism.

Very small: 25 mm diameter, 8 mm height

Embed the Stator part into your design to anchor and tighten a string to that point.

Applications

  • truss tensioning
  • shoe laces
  • package string tensioning
  • dry bag wrapping

For laces/threads up to 1 mm diameter.

Printing

No support, concentric surface patterns.

Assembly

  1. Thread the lace through the rotor hole (can also be done later)
  2. Push the spool disk onto the rotor, glue it.
  3. Push the lid onto the rotor, glue if desired
  4. Insert rotor assembly into the stator
  5. Tighten the mechanism by turning the lid clockwise and pushing
  6. Release the ratchet by turning the lid clockwise a bit to unload the latches and pulling the rotor assembly out of the stator
  7. If the lid is not glued to the rotor, you can remove the lid from the rotor by turning it counterclockwise and pulling slightly.

The string must not pull upward. Only in-plane tension and downward forces are supported.
