genuine question: why this design over just having the sensor on the door and the magnet on the frame?

works great. I sanded the pegs the assembly swings on to make it move more freely but after sticking on the the sensor I think it would have been fine as-is. Either way, great model, provides a solution to a problem I've been wanting to fix. Thanks for the design

Works great with my sensors. The magnet cutout isn't quite the right shape but it still gets the job done. I had to lightly trim the underside of the hinge pins to get free movement but it works really well.

Works great - joints needed a little sandy to get it to move completely freely, but a great design
