This connector would be useful if you have plants that needs constant drip-watering from a bucket or tank. Also eliminating risks of a burst pipe incident when you're away from home because it's an isolated system running from a container instead of mains-pressure-water.
I've designed, printed & used this personally for my roof garden for hotter months as water evaporates so fast that my plants wither. Leaving them on a dripper line keeps the soil moist & cool = better yield (veg leaves & fruits). Plus, it saves water by slowly watering rather than having to flood the pots everytime with a garden hose.
IMPORTANT
Maximum tank body thickness should be less than 3.0mm.
Hose internal diameter should be between 3.5mm to 5mm.
Silicone sealant would be needed to completely seal for water-tightness.
Step 1 : Print parts. 1 x Male & 1 x Female as shown.
Step 2 : Drill 8mm hole onto bucket, tank or water-buttress.
Step 3 : Apply silicone onto male part (vessel contact face only) & stick inside water vessel opening.
Step 4 : Apply silicone onto female part (vessel contact face only) & mate with male part on the outside of opening.
Step 5 : Allow at least 12 hours (silicone drying time) prior to connecting hose or filling up water in container.
Step 6 : Heat up tip of dripper tube with a lighter slightly to ease fitting. Insert tube, allow to cool before letting go.
Step 7 : Install dripper nozzles (not included in this 3D print). Heat hose if needed.
Step 8 : Fill up vessel with water and tune your dripper to desired dripping-speed.
