In response to your feedback, we've added a perforated top cover. Future designs and model releases will include various cover styles. We encourage you to participate in cover design (I confess my artistic skills are limited!). This will allow for multiple aesthetic options for each iteration of the Fantastic Fidget Toy series. We envision this as an open platform for collaborative creation, mirroring MakerWorld's own inventive workshop.

A new Fantastic Fidget Toy is here!

This is another significant addition to the Fantastic Fidget Toy series. Expanded from eight to twelve pieces, it features reduced thickness while maintaining high integration. The previously prone-to-break single-piece design has been replaced with individual clips, simplifying assembly.

Testing utilized Bambu Lab's PLA Basic, which yielded a superior tactile experience, closely aligning with the intended design feel.

For diverse color combinations, select individual components and print them in various colors. Assemble the pieces for a vibrant, visually appealing result.

Please contact me with any questions.

(We encourage discussion in the comments section regarding future design elements. Share preferences for styles to include or exclude, suggest adjustments to component texture and feel, and offer feedback on thickness and size. Your input helps us craft even more enjoyable designs.)

This is a fun little toy. I gave it to my 8 year old daughter fresh off the printer without instructions, and watched her figure out how to put it together. Many laughs were had! The engineering is really clever and the tolerances worked well for me (outer case was PETG, everything else was PLA). The only thing I would consider changing to improve it overall would be to replace the locking pins with threaded screws instead. Putting it together and showing off the inside can really only be done once with the current locking pin design. Also worth noting; the slicer prompted me to enabled supports on my first print, causing it to fail around the third layer. I reverted back to the profile settings (with no supports) and it printed without a problem the second time.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment I might consider your suggestions later I had previously considered threads but to keep the top surface flush I would have to create a straight slot or other groove at the head of the thread which would compromise the surface flatness If it protruded it would further detract from the overall aesthetic I am also looking for an alternative method If you want to see the internal structure and use it normally you can check my homepage for its dedicated hollow top cover specifically designed for this model Finally thank you again for your guidance

Yeah, I know what you mean about keeping it flat for aesthetics. A flush slotted screw would probably be a good compromise. Again, thanks for such a great model, it’s gone with her to school today to be shown off to all her friends! Edit: I wonder if you could put a grip texture instead of a slot, which might make it look less like a screw head.

If you have modified any parameters, please try printing with the unmodified settings. If you are using the original parameters, check if the first layer is printing correctly. If all the mechanisms feel very resistant, try calibrating the filament flow rate

The printer is telling me the print needs supports. Should I print without them or enable automatic supports?

printed out perfectly in esun pla basic! (in case anyone has any advice on how to get optimal results with it, since I'm new, I would really appreciate it!) It's really fun but I still don't understand what the button on the right is for🤔

One of my favorite prints. Some feedback - although it may be my filament choice: - the button (red here) is pretty hard to press - the wheel (also red - which uses the outer notches) is hard to turn (on the 16 version it is fixed as it has wider springs) - the switch on the side (green here) could be a little longer, as it now - with the short handle - it gets some downward force as well which makes it harder to switch.
