Water Rocket Using 20 Ounce Bottle
Print Profile(1)

Description
Nose cone and guidance fin components designed to fit a 20 ounce plastic PET bottle. To fill and launch this rocket, I used the launch device found in the Factura Lab “Water Powered Working Rocket” model (pictured with rockets).
I printed theses parts in PETG and performed my initial test launch in my suburban driveway - big mistake… I filled the bottle about halfway with water, connected it to the launch device and used a bicycle pump to pressurize it to about 45-50 PSI. Upon launch, the rocket went high enough that I almost lost sight of it in the sky (about 300 feet). It then nosed over and came speeding back to the ground, hitting the street in front of my house about fifteen feet from my neighbor's car. After a heavy sigh of relief, I laughed myself silly. This thing is a blast! Just make sure to launch it in an open field.
I provided model files for two variations of guidance fins and two variations of nose cones with additional thin walled versions of each.
