Description

I created this design because I saw that the average coin sorter was around 350g of filament. To me that's a lot of fillament for coins so I wanted to make a small one. The way this works is you have the sorter and the container. You must pop the sorter (pennies, nickles, quarters) into the container on one side.

It does work, it was a pain, but once it is in it is then permenant as I've not been able to get them out without breaking it. It is by design. This makes it so that now only do they stack decently but they also do not need any supports, which saves on filament.

You can then use them as-is. Like if you don't care about anything but quarters, you can just use the one sorter and shake it above a container to catch all the non-quarters.

However, I also designed it so you can sort all the way down. Dimes are not included because they're the smallest and get sorted out by the pennies sorter.

I managed to shrink this, in total, all the way down to 73g.

However, if we're talking about just the sorters, it does go all the way down to just 51g.

I'm fairly proud of this print as it was definitely complex. Most of the coin sorters are quite large, whereas this one can fit in my hand. Additionally, I did add an hour and a half on Plate 3 with its design but the design saved on 5g of filament. Enjoy!

Overall, I am very happy with the outcome, and I hope you are too. If you'd like to support me, consider checking out one of my Kindle books on Amazon. I've got FDM and Resin books, but I also have books on random stuff like compasses, better habit building, and DSLR cameras.
