This is a universally adaptable design for a holder to position tools such as milling cutters, screwdriver bits, screwdrivers, etc., on a French Cleat wall.

A version for 8mm milling cutters was released some time ago. We were then asked to provide a parametric version.

Here is a model where all relevant dimensions, distances, and the number of mounting holes are parameterizable.

Due to the extensive parameterizability, holders for cylindrical objects such as spray cans can also be created. There is also the option to parameterize hexagonal holes for screwdriver bits. The possibilities are endless.

Please let us know if further adjustments are desired.

Have fun… :)

Current Version: V2

Description of Parameters in Version V2:

The Number of Holes:

Default value: 6

Two rows of holes are usually set. If the number of holes is set to two, the rear row has two holes, the front row then consists of only one hole, centrally arranged to the rear ones. If a larger number of holes is selected, both rows are extended accordingly. The total width of the holder adjusts automatically.

Special Case:

If the number of holes is set to 1, only a single hole is created and automatically centered. The dimensions of the holder are determined by the edge distances (description below).

The Distance of the Hole Rows from the Left and Right Edges:

Default value: 15

Distance of the outer holes of the rear hole row to the edges. Always symmetrical.

The Distance Between the Holes Within the Rows:

Default value: 20

The Distance of the Hole Rows from the Front and Rear Edges:

Default values: 10 front, 15 rear

Distance of the front row from the front edge and distance of the rear hole row from the rear edge. Separately adjustable.

The Distance Between the Two Hole Rows:

Default value: 15

The Height of the Base Body and the Height of the Hangers:

Default values: 20 (min 10, max 50) and 30 (min 10, max 70)

The sum of the two values results in the total height of the holder.

The Hole Diameter:

Default value: 8.5

The diameter should be 0.2 - 0.3 mm larger than the nominal size of the tool shaft so that the tool can be easily inserted and removed.

The Hole Depth:

Default value: 15

If the hole depth is greater than the height of the base body, through holes are obtained. This can be useful for simple screwdriver holders or similar.

The Depth of the Countersinks for Easier Tool Insertion:

Default value: 10 (min 0, max 50)

The depth is always percentage-based on the bore diameter. The percentage can be changed. For example, if the hole diameter is set to 12mm and the percentage of the countersink depth is 25%, then the countersink is 3mm deep.

The Edge Length of the Chamfers at the Front Left and Right:

Default value: 5 (min 0, max 20)

The Parameter “detail”:

Default value: 64

This parameter controls the resolution of the holes. The smaller the value, the more angular the holes become. If this value is set to 6, hexagonal holes result. For common bits for cordless screwdrivers, a hole diameter of approximately 7.8 should then be set.

Old Version V1 (file deleted)

The following parameters are adjustable in version V1:

Distances of the hole rows to all edges

Distance between the two hole rows

Distance between the holes

Number of holes, the length of the model adjusts automatically

Hole diameter in 0.1mm increments

The diameter should be 0.2 - 0.3 mm larger than the nominal size of the tool shaft so that the tool can be easily inserted and removed

Depth of the countersinks for easier tool insertion

The depth is always percentage-based on the bore diameter

the percentage can be changed

Thickness of the base body, the holes always have a base thickness of 5mm, i.e. if the base body is set to 20mm thickness, the hole is 15mm deep, with a 15mm base body thickness the hole is 10mm deep
