Description

A massage roller stick!

A long run, or a heavy work out session can often leave you with sore/tight muscles the following day, so it can be recommended to use a massage device to stretch, relax and relieve to prevent soreness and to promote more optimal recovery. While no device can be a full replacement for a deep sports massage, often a 5-10 minute session with a massage device, such as this roller, can provide enough stimulus to the specific areas to do the trick.

The roller consists of 8 independent rollers, each consisting of 2 print in place ball bearings and a soft exterior TPU wheel to be a bit gentler on the muscles than a harder filament. The design allows for a smooth rolling experience to encourage blood flow, rather than a non-roller variety that can easily irritate the skin.

To assemble, remove the support on the bearings (as shown in the photos), then click in 2 ball bearings either side of each TPU wheel, and slide onto the centre stick and pop a handle on the ends.

For printing, a 0.4mm nozzle works fine for the entire print, however a 0.2mm might yield better results for the ball bearings. The handles and central stick have increased infill and wall layers for strength. Similarly, the central stick is best printed horizontally for strength along the layer lines. TPU is recommended for the roller wheels as the flexibility is kinder for the muscles, but for a deep massage, this can be changed out for a harder filament (or different hardness of TPU).
