🛠️ Rubber Feet Generator – Parametric Model
This parametric OpenSCAD generator allows you to create customizable rubber feet for a variety of applications, such as furniture, electronics enclosures, or DIY projects.
✅ Features:
- Shape Selection: Choose between round or rectangular base shapes.
- Mounting Options: Select one of five mounting types:
- Socket head screw
- Hexagon head screw
- Countersunk screw
- Nut (for threaded inserts or bolts)
- Snap-in (a conical head press-fit mount that locks into a hole, e.g. a PCB)
- Standard Screw Sizes: Choose from common metric sizes: M2, M2.5, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, or M10
- Custom Hole Dimensions: Optionally override all screw hole dimensions manually for full control.
- Top Recess: Add a circular or rectangular recess on the top surface – ideal for inserting furniture legs or other components for better grip and fit.
- Fully Parametric: Dimensions, heights, clearances, and features can all be customized via parameters.
💡 Use Cases:
- Shock-absorbing rubber feet for furniture or electronics
- Mounts for enclosures, tools, machines
- Feet for 3D printers, CNC machines, or speaker boxes
- Vibration dampening supports
- Snap-fit mounting into sheet metal or PCBs without screws
⚠️ Note:
For small snap-in sizes, the press-fit geometry includes fine details that may not print reliably with standard nozzles.
It is recommended to use a 0.2 mm nozzle or smaller for best results when generating very compact snap-in mounts.
This model was tested using TPU for the Bambu AMS, which tends to be relatively stiff.
For better flexibility and easier snap-fit functionality, using a softer filament (e.g. TPU with Shore 95A or 90A) is recommended.
💬 Feedback Welcome!
If you have any ideas, suggestions, or feedback, feel free to send me a message – I'd love to hear what you're building with it or how it could be improved!
Please note that I haven't been able to personally test all combinations of shapes, sizes, and mounting types yet –
so if you run into issues or have improvements in mind, your input is very welcome and appreciated!
