Description

Build your own miniature 10 Downing Street

Bring a piece of political history to your shelf with this detailed diorama of 10 Downing Street, the iconic home of UK Prime Ministers since 1735. Designed for makers who appreciate architecture, history, British charm and politics, this kit includes 20 carefully crafted parts that assemble into a faithful diorama of the famous façade.

Features:

  • Iconic Details: Includes the fanlight window, traditional black door, letterbox, railings, lantern with golden crown, and even a tiny brass door knob
  • Political Easter Eggs: Comes with a miniature red despatch box - used by the king and his ministers to transport government documents
  • Rich History: Over 50 prime ministers have lived and worked at Number 10, including notable leaders like Winston Churchill, Clement Attlee, and Harold Wilson
  • Custom Door Option: Prefer a more neutral look? Print an alternate door with no number, in any colour you choose - no AMS required
  • Engaging Build: The 20 components slot together cleanly without glue, creating a sturdy, high-detail model
  • Tested & Reliable: Rigorously tested with PLA and PETG across multiple printers to ensure a smooth and satisfying print
  • Versatile Display: Ideal as a standalone model, part of a London street scene, or a unique book nook
  • Quick & Compact: Prints in under a day and fits neatly inside a spare filament spool box - perfect for gifting or storing
  • Step-by-Step Guide: Comes with easy-to-follow instructions

This model is the result of many hours of design, testing, and tweaking. If you enjoy building it, please share a photo and review!

A boost is always welcome to help fund future projects (and keep the filament flowing!).

why didn't it come out like the image with white behind the bricks? huge waste of filament.

This is very strange. Did you use my AMS print profile with no changes?

I sized it up but that shouldn't alter where the color swap happens right?

Unfortunately not, no. On that plate the filament change is set at layer height. This is the optimal setting for detail, time and filament use on this particular object. I go through tonnes of testing to get tolerances and quality right, so I can’t guarantee the results if you make changes to the profile. What size were you hoping for? I could make a new profile.

Yes, this is a really detailed print that looks great. One question: how did you get the royal seal on the dispatch box to look that detailed? Mine came out as somewhat of a blob...

Thanks for your feedback and for sharing a picture! Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the despatches box. It could be a few factors, like the nozzle isn’t wiping properly after the colour change, it’s too hot for your chosen material, or the material might need drying. If you’re continually having problems you could try printing it all in one colour, then going over the top with a gold pen or some metallic acrylic paint. That way your machine won’t need to change filaments and you’ll skip the most likely causes.

I found something better for me: although I don't have an AMS, I enabled the "Prime Tower" anyway. This gave the nozzle a chance to clear out any blobs (as well as avoid any dribbles) and produced a somewhat clearer print. Now - on to Scotland!

Took a couple of goes due to user error, but so happy with how this turned out. This is truly stunning. Buckingham Palace next please!!

How did you do it? I've tried three times now, and every time I use black for the brick, it prints all crooked and the result is horrible.

It looks great - but it's missing the most important thing, the chief mouser?

Thank you! I have modelled a Larry, and he’s coming soon! Organic shapes are not my forte, so he’s taking longer. Here’s a preview.
