Description
A feeding port adapter designed to be fit into tall containers such as 3 litre milk jugs, or similar containers. It suits small to medium birds such as lovebirds, or quails. The entry of the hole where the birds stick their heads in is 31mm wide.
Printed out of ABS, but ASA is preferred for UV resistance.
I have also designed a funnel adapter to use another milk jug as a funnel to fit into the mouth of another milk jug.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Note: I used a ~42mm hole saw to cut the hole for the port. You can use other methods to cut the hole as it doesn't need to be precise.
Measuring:
- Allow for at least 30mm from the base of the container and place a mark.
- Make a second mark 31mm up from the first mark, this will be the centre of your hole.
Cutting/Assembly:
- Drill a pilot hole (to align the hole saw) at your centre mark with a small diameter drill bit.
- Cut a 42mm hole (can be slightly larger as the rim is 1cm wide).
- Test fit the port, sliding it in at a slight angle.
- Apply hot glue to the inner rim which will mate to the container.
- Quickly slide the port into the hole before glue hardens.
