Cheap Solution for up to 80 Spools
This project transforms two standard IKEA IVAR cabinets into a highly efficient and affordable filament storage solution. With custom 3D-printed parts like spool holders, door handles, cabinet feet, and even print bed plate mounts, this setup is perfect for anyone who finaly needs a solution for for his out-of-hand filament collection.
The spools sits on two parallel rods, making it easy to remove individual spools without disturbing the others. The cabinet is designed to be fully modular and easy to replicate, using mostly standard materials and printable components. The total cost stays under €200, making it ideal for hobbyists, small print farms, or anyone that alreaddddddy has an ikea shelf.
Everything is designed to be 3D printed, assembled with basic tools.
Find the various parts for the cabinet in the different print profiles.
For the crossbars, 6x 20x750 mm metal or wooden bars are required per unit.
The holders for the rods can be screwed directly into the existing holes.
There is a choice of 3 different models for the feet.
5x3 mm round magnets are required for the printplate holders.
All parts can be mounted with wood screws.
There are filament clips for labeling the rolls according to material.
The clips can simply be clipped on the holding rods.
There are empty clips that can be labeled in the slicer.

I recommend everyone to personalize the cabinet according to their own ideas before modding it.
The cabinet is made of solid wood and is perfect for painting and customizing.
