If you're able to, please consider boosting my model. If you print it, I'd love to see photos and hear your feedback. I'm always looking to improve my models and 3D modeling skills. Thank you!

Power Rangers Ninja Storm - Thunder Morpher Discs

V3 Model (Final Version) is now available:

NO AMS REQUIRED - ONLY 1 COLOUR CHANGE - NO SUPPORTS

There are two versions available:

  1. No Clip (Display) - Designed to sit snugly on the original morpher. Does not to recreate the original clip mechanism, since the plastic on these toys is over 20 years old and I didn’t want to risk damaging it. The disks stay on securely through friction fit — in my testing, they don’t come off unless you deliberately pry them off. PLA is fine for this

  2. Tight Clip (Cosplay) - Designed as a 1:1 replica and clips into the original clip mechanism in the morpher. I'd only recommend these if you need to part to stay on tightly and not come off even with intense movement (e.g. COSPLAY). Recommended to print in PETG.

Updated V2 model:

  • Model adjusted for AMS Printing
  • Rounder appearance of outer disk
  • Changed support type to traditional for easier and cleaner removal
  • Minor adjustments to keep models inline with Wind Morpher Disc Model

Thunder Storm! Ranger Form! Ha!

For those of us who hold this show close, this one’s for you.

I bought the Thunder Morpher second-hand, but the Navy Thunder disk was long gone. So I decided to model both discs myself — the Crimson Thunder disc is based on the original toy, and the Navy Thunder disc was recreated using reference photos.

Both discs are designed to sit snugly on the original morpher. I chose not to recreate the original clip mechanism, since the plastic on these toys is over 20 years old and I didn’t want to risk damaging it. The discs stay on securely through friction fit — in my testing, they don’t come off unless you deliberately pry them off. If it's too loose it might be worth scaling it down very slightly, although I've printed 5 of these now during my development and had no issues.
