The C-5 Galaxy, is a large military transport aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Corporation, and is the largest strategic transport aircraft currently in service with the US Air Force.
Development of the C-5 began in March 1964, with its maiden flight successfully completed in 1968, and it officially entered service in June 1970. It is capable of transporting oversized cargo globally, achieving takeoff and landing within relatively short distances. [17]
