Tape Storage Rack

A simple tape storage rack. It's a fairly compact design that still holds a decent number of rolls. And it can be stacked horizontally or vertically  without a lot of lost space if you need more than one. The bottom hooks are for smaller rolls like electrical and plumbers tape and are optional. Just print a forth plain support rod if you don't need them. It mounts to a wall or other surface with two screws in keyhole slots. Or it can be mounted to a metal surface like a toolbox, workbench or storage cabinet by attaching it to magnets. This is how it's mounted to the side of my electronics bench in the photos. The bottom mounting tabs provide a place to stick rubber feet that act as standoffs when using magnets. They should have the same approximate thickness as the magnets so it hangs plumb. I recommend magnets that are in metal cups with screw holes. They have much greater holding power for a given size and won't slide down a slick surface like a painted toolbox the way a raw magnet will. And of course the screw holes are so you can mount the magnets to the rack. I'm using magnets that are 17mm or about 5/8' diameter and they have more than enough hold. These were just some magnetic hooks I had around the shop. I just unscrewed the hook and used the magnet with a screw. So I can't recommend an exact magnet. But I wouldn't go too big with this type of magnet as it will have more strength than the print.
