!!! IMPORTANT NOTE !!!
Apparently there are MANY versions of the original AMS. The print profile I have currently online works if you have the AMS with a mid section spacing of 86mm:
We encountered at least 2 more versions so far and try to come up with a universal rail that works maybe even for AMS 2 Pro.

This is my approach of a modular AMS Rack system.
It supports the original AMS as well as the new AMS 2 Pro. The system can be extended infinitely and is designed with a minimal parts approach.
Hardware List
- 2020 (Grove 6) Aluminum Extrusion
- 400mm Full-Extension Ball Bearing Rails (GTV Versalite+)
- Screws:
- ISO 7380-2 M5x8
- ISO 7380-2 M4x16
- ISO 7380-2 M4x6
- Nuts:
- T-NUT (Grove 6) M5
- NUT M4
The rest is pretty much printed.
If you want a rack that simply holds two AMS units (like in my photos) just print the “TOP” module and add 4 end caps for the bottom.
Step 1 - Select a module and gather the necessary hardware:

Step 3 - Print the appropriate AMS rails:
You need 2x ISO 7380-2 M4x16 Screws and 2x M4 Nuts for each rail!
(The rails have M4 nut pockets and holes fitted for the 400mm GTV rails mentioned above. If you have different 400mm rails let me know in the comments and I can adjust the hole positioning accordingly.)

I also relocated my AMS Hub to the rack. This way I only have three “cables” going to the printer (4-pin, 6-pin and one filament tube):
I use the great and super easy to connect / disconnect AMS Hub from dedge.
Since to date there is no 4-pin cable extension available I purchased a 4-Pin Molex cable.
If you just connect this cable the AMS will flash red. You need to cut the cable and connect (solder) yellow with brown and brown with yellow on the cable linked here) in order for the AMS(s) to be recognized correctly:
