CD ROM Mount for Car Radio Multimedia Player

Mount for car radio multimedia player (CarPlay/Android Auto) for installation in the CD ROM slot

For this project, I designed and 3D-printed a special mount that allows for the secure and stable installation of a car radio multimedia player with CarPlay and Android Auto in the vehicle, without having to attach the original mount to the dashboard.

Function and features:
    •  The mount is simply inserted into the existing CD ROM slot of the car radio.
    •  This eliminates the need for drilling or gluing on the dashboard – the vehicle remains undamaged and the installation can be removed without leaving any residue.
    •  The design ensures a firm hold and prevents wobbling or slipping of the multimedia player, even during driving.
 

Material:

•  The mount is made of PETG (polyethylene terephthalate glycol), a material that is characterized by high stability and good heat resistance.
    •  PETG is ideal for use in vehicles, as it remains dimensionally stable even at summer temperatures and does not become brittle.
 

Design:
    •  The shape is precisely adapted to the CD slot and offers a large contact surface for the multimedia player.
    •  The mount is easy to insert and remove.
    •  The special geometry optimally distributes the weight of the player.
 

Advantages:
    •  Easy installation: No tools, no glue, no screws required.
    •  Vehicle remains original: No marks or damage to the dashboard.
    •  Stable and durable: PETG withstands mechanical stress and heat.
    •  Universal: Suitable for many common car radios with a CD slot.
