Background

This is a box I designed to house the OEM tools provided with the H2S/H2D combo as well as an additional tray to hold 6 hotends (enough for 2 of each size, minus what's installed on the printer already).

The box is a variant of Hugo's Parametric SnapLock Storage Box:

I reverse engineered and integrated the black plastic tool holder from Bambu Lab into the boxes base and added a separate hotend tray that sits on top of the tool holder. To gain access the tools, simply lift the hotend tray out and place in the lid.

A nice design overall I reworked it slightly, pulling the lower tray out into a separate insert (with a couple of snap-fit clips to mate it into the case) which let me limit the amount of material changes to just the logo on the lid and speed things up a fair amount Also very happy with the orange and black I shamelessly copied off @DocWalt

I'm getting some really weird slicing action here where it is using the main color for the infill in areas that are fully white. I'm already printing so I'm just going to hope the color doesn't show through the white but I want to make aware future makers maybe you can fix this before you send to the printer. I wonder if this is due to the way it was designed by sending models with native color maps from your cad program into bambu studios, where it might have been best to paint the colors from bambu studios internally?

Hmm, I used the Bambu Studio paint tool (paint bucket fill command) on this design so not sure. I will play around with it when I get some free time.

Hi, thank you very much for the project. This is one of my first prints as a newcomer to the 3D world. 😊 Everything went great, the hinges fit perfectly and the closure works as it should. The design is well thought out. After removing it from the build plate, I noticed a visually strange surface on the top and bottom parts. What could be the reason for this? Printed with PLA. Thank you for sharing.

Those are stress marks from shrinkage. A couple of passes with a heat gun or torch will remove them.
