Description

*** V2 Update available here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1635151-minecraft-copper-golem-figurine-v2-by-jaebii?from=search#profileId-1727336

Just after I finished printing the final multicolor version of my new Malgosha figurine, Minecraft revealed the new Copper Update including the new Copper Golem mob, and I knew I had to try modeling a figure of the Copper Golem like I did with Malgosha! The figure/figurine itself isn't “articulated” since the pegs are modeled using cubes like the rest of the figure, but I think the tolerances are clear enough that you should be able to remove the arms and reattach them in different positions (it might be a good idea to glue the pegs into the arms or into the body before attaching them, that way it'll be easier to remove them and reattach them, I think). Also, since it's not as inuitive as Malgosha, the shorter pegs are for the arms, and the other three pegs are for the legs and neck. Hopefully you won't have as much struggle assembling it as I did, but it might help to use a hair dryer on the sockets to heat them up and make it a little easier to plug in the peg pieces. You can print this Copper Golem in different colors just like the four color variations in the new Copper Update, and I'll include print profiles for both the regular Copper Golem and the Oxidized Copper Golem! For the colors, I'd highly recommend using Hatchbox Copper PLA for the darker accent color, and Protopasta's "Tangerine Orange Metallic Gold" for the primary copper color. I think Bambu's Turquoise PLA would work well for the “oxidized” teal color, but I'm sure there are a variety of alternatives for each color you'll need!

This time around, I designed this figure to be able to print on a single plate all at once, taking only around 3 hours to print every piece simultaneously, particularly since the multicolor print only uses three out of four total colors on the AMS. If you'd prefer to separate the pieces for fear of warping or elephant-footing or printing failures, feel free to place each piece on a single plate, but I'd recommend printing more than one piece at the same time on each plate to maximize your efficiency and decrease your relative material waste from color switching. Just like my Malgosha and my remixes of Kirimba's figures and blocks, this Copper Golem is designed to be in scale with the Jazwares Minecraft figures, but you can always measure and resize it for you own needs. If you want to print a compatible Minecraft Chest block to go with your new Copper Golem figure, I suggest printing the Minecraft Chest accessory that can be found in my published print profiles, which is my personal print profile for this Minecraft Chest: (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1195213-my-world-minecraft-chest-multicolor-assembly#profileId-1642291). The print profile is rescaled to match the official Jazwares Minecraft action figure block accessories, and you can print all of the pieces (except for the silver part) in the main color of your Golem to make it match! The Chest itself can open and close, and store Minecraft action figure items and accessories, and it's really easy to print and assemble!

Oh awesome!! It looks so cute! And that’s a really slick color scheme too! It looks like you printed the V2 updated version right? Hopefully the assembly process didn’t give you too much trouble or anything, I tried to improve a few things to make it a bit easier than the original version! Thanks for printing my model and leaving a comment, I really appreciate it!

Sorry you’re having trouble with the pieces, did you try heating up the sockets with a hair dryer like I suggested in the description? The tolerances are meant to be pretty tight so the pieces won’t fall apart, meaning you might have to heat up the sockets or trim down the pegs a little if the pieces aren’t fitting easily. It really all depends on the quality of the plastic and the printer settings that you’re using, so it’s a little hard to predict how smooth the tolerances will be sometimes. Also, this figure is my outdated V1 design, I uploaded an improved V2 design that’s a lot better so I’d definitely suggest you try that one instead! You can find the link to it at the top of the description, or through my profile page! But you can still try those techniques to make the V1 pieces fit together more easily too!

Hopefully that’ll work! And the V2 design is definitely much cooler, it includes a lot more optional pieces and you can kinda get it into some additional poses that the V1 can’t really do, plus it’s a bit more accurate looking!

Yeah I can’t wait! I tried out the new snapshot preview on Bedrock Edition and posted some YouTube videos of my speedrun challenge to see how early I could build some Copper Golems! I’m really excited to finally be able to build some in my main PS5 world! Thanks for taking a look at my figure, I just recently uploaded a V2 updated version that’s much more game-accurate, and very soon I’ll be uploading some files for a customizable multicolor Minecraft Player Skin action figure too! If you’re interested, feel free to consider following my profile so you can stay up to date on my uploads!

Just a quick heads-up, I published an updated “V2” version of this figure that’s much more accurate looking and has much higher poseability, and ought to be slightly easier to assemble too! If you’re having trouble with this version, I definitely suggest you check out the new version instead!
