Sooil Dana-i Insulin Pump Housing with Metal Clip Mount

TPU enclosure for the Sooil Dana-i insulin pump with the option of mounting a metal belt clip.

As an insulin pump user myself, I had an expensive leather case with a belt clip for my Dana-i for almost two years. Unfortunately, the plastic clip recently broke and the case no longer looked good. A new case costs a lot of money and they are currently unavailable. So I came up with my own design that I can print with TPU. I used TPU from Amazon Basics and printed the case upright with four wall thicknesses, Gyroid infill pattern at 50% infill, with tree supports. The Generic TPU profile was used in the Bambu Lab P1P. Tip: Apply a good adhesive to the print bed. Removing it tore a hole in the coating on one of my print beds.

Now you can screw the metal clip to the housing using a so-called rivet nut (also called a blind rivet), and secure the rivet nut with screw locking lacquer or superglue to prevent it from unscrewing. I used a rivet nut with a 5mm x 6mm M4 thread. The insulin pump is also operable, and you can see the amount of insulin in the reservoir. Catheter changes, reservoir changes, and battery changes are also possible with the case. With my paid price per kilogram of TPU filament, the case including supports costs €0.80. Add about €1 for the rivet nut and clip if you don't use the set prices. This gives you a stable belt clip case for your Dana-i for under €2. A purchased one costs almost 20 times as much and is hardly available. Plus, you can choose your color.
