Description

My hope is that this model can form the base of a system where the community can create a set of shells that can quickly be swapped out to change the vehicle without having to print and assemble the chassis and electronics very time. Please consider supporting this project by designing parts, liking, boosting, or linking people here. You are not limited to aesthetics and shells, perhaps you could design steering, better wheels, or other functional parts.

 

This is a template for cyber brick projects that use skid / differential steering. Please feel free to remix this as a starting point for your own projects, consider linking back to my parts for printing so we both get the rewards.

I made this model as a starting point for more cyber brick models. It implements the differential drive steering model and comes with configuration files for front and rear wheel drive. I will use this as the core for my next projects including a race car and some battle bots. The chassis comes with plenty of holes for mounting your own shells, let your creativity go wild. 

 

Electronics Connections

The electronics are super simple, just two motors and a battery. You will also need a controller, which I suggest you use the official controller.

 

The easiest way to get started with this model is to use the beginner hardware kit which contains everything you need for the controller and vehicle. Note that you can use any of the gearbox ratios available in the single axis kits. 1:105 will be slow but powerful, great for a battle bot. 1:21 will be super quick, but not much pushing power, great for a racer. The 1:48 kit included in the beginner kit will be a balance of both.
