Description

Cyberbrick Claw Machine

Finally I am super excited to present to you the Cyberbrick Claw Machine, in this version I have greatly simplified the assembly and especially thanks to Cyberbrick you will not need to solder anything and the electronics and software part will be much easier. Also I have included several improvements that you will see. I hope you will enjoy it. 🚀🚀

How To Control It

obviously with the joystick you move the clamp and position it at the point on the base you want, once you have chosen the point, pressing the button once will have the following behaviors:

  • first click: open gripper
  • second click: block clamp opening
  • third click: closes clamp
  • fourth click: lock clamp closed

by holding down the button (long press) you pull the gripper up or down, so to catch you have to hold down.

This is the system I thought of but of course there will be better ones, recommend them to me in the comments if you have any. In the future I will definitely bring updates maybe with a custom code in micropyhton that I am still testing.

Differences With Previous Version

I have introduced several improvements over prev version that I list below.

CURRENT

PREVIOUS

Obviously the first big difference is the control board, thanks to Cyberbrick the connections are immediate and you don't have to solder anything, plus having moved the electronics to the roof reduces the number of ext cables.
Now the controller can be detached given the RC nature of Cyberbrick, and this implies that you can remotely control the claw machine, plus this makes the whole project compatible with the A1 Mini (in the previous version I had to release an update to mount the base in two pieces to fit in the bed of the mini). You will still be able to keep the controller attached to the base because of the magnets.
The gripper in the new version is much more similar to the standard grippers of real claw machines, it has 3 arms instead of 2 and this greatly improves the chances of catching objects inside the claw machine. It is also much more stable by having a more central center of gravity.
The curr version has lights and they change based on what you do making it a little more spectacular and much more arcade-like

Assembly Guide - Cyberbrick Setup

Follow the YT video above to build the Cyberbrick Claw Machine but rest assured as it is very intuitive. You need 3 TPU Belts you can find it in print profiles section

Follow the diagram below to connect all the components to Cyberbrick.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoy this project and look forward to hearing what you think in the comments. Any suggestions and/or modifications are welcome. If you have any doubts about the assembly or anything else enter my discord server so I can better help you ✌️
