D6x2 mm Round Magnet (20PCS) - CA004

Description

I created this filter holder with in mind the possibility of modularizing it to everyone's specific needs, without having to reprint the case several times in the event that in the future, changing lenses, one has to change filter diameters.

I decided to make two sizes, which I called UPT67 (up to 67 mm) and UPT95 (up to 95 mm).I did this because I realized after a few test prints that many people do not have filters that reach large diameters, so I decided to make two sizes (increasing my workload since I like to complicate my life lol), with the 67 mm diameter being the limit, the limit for semi-professional type filters.

In doing so, the UPT67 size became extremely small and portable, making it more convenient to carry.

After yet another printing, I thought of making a version with an integrated belt loop, thus creating a quick and fast system for changing filters while you are doing outdoor photography, without having to put them in your pocket or backpack, making everything more time-consuming and laborious, with the risk of scratching or soiling the lenses.

Just for the 2 and 3 slots. More slots might be heavier and more inconvenient to carry around

The maximum housing thickness in the inserts is 11 mm, which should be compatible with all filters, even the thickest NDs. In any case, since it is not possible to predict everything, I have added two .stp files so that you can create your own custom-made housing after measuring your filters with a caliper.

Under each filter holder I have included the inscription with its diameter, for quick reference in case someone has printed so many inserts. You can decide to print it in double color with AMS or not.

HARDWARE PARTS:

Only 2 M3x16 socket-head screws for the hinges and #4 6x2 mm magnets for the lock will be needed for assembly. The hole inside the base is 2.8 mm, so just tighten the screw firmly to create the thread. Tighten the screws more or less to decide how hard the lid will be opened, it is up to your discretion.

Bonus: if you have some sponge strip (max 3/4 mm of thickness you can) glue it to the cap, this will completely block the movement of the filters.

ITALIANO:

Interesting model, however I didn't pay attention: there is a problem with model 67, 3-slot plate with belt loop On the chassis there is a centered fastener, and on the cover there are 2 outer fasteners This problem does not exist on the model without the belt, I think something was forgotten ;) If the author can correct it?

Oh no, I'm so sorry, I didn't notice. I'll absolutely correct it, just let me know if you'd prefer me to prepare a special lid to avoid reprinting the frame which takes more time, or if you prefer to print the frame with the two fixing points and use the lid you've already printed

Hi, sorry for the delay but I couldn't remember which PC I had saved the whole project on. I have uploaded a print profile for you called CAP 3 SLOT SPECIAL. The screws to use will always be the same: M3x16 Let me know!

Great design, printed the outer case in matte black PETG and the inner case in matte green pla. Fit perfectly for 49mm cpl filter and for 49mm variable ND filter need to use 52mm filter slot for perfect fit. Modified slightly to fill up the side and middle wall without bambu logo. And I do not have 6x2mm magnet, modified the slot to fit 4x2mm from cyberbrick. Added 3mm foam on top, the filter fit snugly inside the case.

I was amazed to come across this model and immediately went to print the belt 2 slot version. Printed very nicely and well, albeit I had to redesign the lid to accommodate m3x12 screws, as I don't have m3x16. It worked perfectly after that and can't wait to to try it out on the field!

Best filter holder, period! If you get a chance, my CPL and variable ND 95mm filters don't fit though - they're a couple mm too wide. Making the walls thinner on the sides for the upper 60% would fix it. For now I used a power drill to widen a couple, but the results were... not great. I tried editing the wall thickness, but I'm new to 3D modeling and it's slow going. Cheers!

Hi, thank you very much!! Can you measure the thickness with a caliper? Or at least with a method that can be quite precise, so I can check and make a insert for you!

100.5mm diameter, 7mm thick My existing caliper measuring tool only goes to 50mm, but I have a 150mm inbound. I'm confident in the above numbers though, as I have a metal ruler with 0.5mm lines on it and a good set of magnifier glasses. If you would prefer, the 150mm caliper will be here Wednesday and I can post digital measurements.

I shoot astro, and some of my filters are in excess of $500 for just one. This design would be even more awesome if it held the plastic cases that keeps them from getting scratched. I use Optolong filters and they all come in a small flip lid case for protection. Just some food for thought! Your design looks great!

Thank you very much for your kind words, it means a great deal to me to know that someone appreciated my work! I am not very knowledgeable about astrophotography and I was unaware of the existence of these filters As you rightly say, given their high cost, it would be best to have the option of including their case directly This is a good idea, but one I could not implement due to the enormous variety in case sizes, sometimes truly large However, if you wish to print it, could you provide me with the dimensions of your cases (LxHxThickness) so that I might create a special insert for you! Provided it does not exceed the maximum dimensions of either size, of course
