Update: I’ve released a new version with a more secure connection system between the two halves.

I also reinforced the side walls and added mounting holes sized for #8 wood screws, making it easier to fasten the jig to plywood or a 2×4.

When attaching the jig to your workpiece, avoid over tightening the screws to avoid pinching the slots.

For best results, use a small scrap of wood to help seat the blades all the way in the slots.

This jig is made to help keep your DW735 blades sharp without the drama. Prints in two pieces for ease of print.  Line up the pins to the holes and connect together to give you a 13 inches single piece.  groves are at 45 degrees angle, and 1/16 wide blade gap provides a firm fit but still allows for some movement. I clamped the jig between bench dogs. As an alternative you can butt the jig against a planning stop, or clamp in a bench vise from the sides.

After you have the blades secured, you can use a diamond stone sharpen the blades. rotate until you have all 3 blades sharpened.

If you use water stones, you could develop groves in the stones if you're not careful

Please note this jig is designed to sharpen blades a few times giving you a bit more life between blade changes.

If there are large chips or nicks in the blades, you will probably not be able to get them out as it will require too much material removal.

Looks great, but I didn't pay attention to the DW735 notice. This doesn't work for my DW733 blades. Not only are they thicker, but they are at a 40° angle.

I would add that it is important to use the same amount of strokes for each cutting edge. That being said, nice design and thanks for your contribution.

So, same amount of strokes for each cutting edge, Why? I would add that It doesn't make a bit of difference how many strokes on each blade. Think about it, You have to adjust each blade separately during install.

blades fit pretty well after cleaning them. still, there is some warp. will have to mount the sharpener on a dedicated board.
