Description
This small yet impressively detailed Hercules beetle robot is part of my ongoing collection of mechanical insects (cannot move). The model combines the organic form of the well-known Hercules beetle with futuristic robot elements. Every carapace segment, every leg joint, and even the typical mandibles have been carefully designed to appear both realistic and mechanical
I specifically designed the model to be easily printable. Even fine details like the seams between the armor plates or the joint structure are clearly visible and optimized for FDM printing

Print Details (tested on Bambu Lab A1 mini):
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Print speed: 124%
- Filament: Matte Black PLA
- The beetle also looks excellent with white or colored PLA – the details stand out well in any color
- I calibrated my printer before printing
- please make sure the supports are enabled
with standard settings, the supports would look like this, post-processing required, but you won't see it when it's standing upright
with pliers, the standard supports can be removed more easily :)
Whether as decoration, a collector's item, or part of a diorama scene – this robot beetle is a real eye-catcher!
