Description

This block holds up to a 51mm wide hand plane iron at a 25 degree angle for sanding, honing, sharpening, or whatever you call it.  Holes are 10mm and you can use a bolt or any stout cylinder combined with a wood wedge to lock your blade in place.  Works for my narrower blade as well, jammed up against one wall and wedged.  Scale it up in the slicer if you need a slot wider than 51mm.

Please note:  This model was created as a guide to completely regrind an antique plane iron.  This angle guide is somewhat disposable, in that sanding of the bottom of the 3d printed part can change the bevel angle of the iron.  In my testing I have found that I can get an entire bevel cleaned up before there is any wear on the bottom of the plastic part that would affect performance.  If you are looking for the roller bearing type of sharpening guide there are plenty of models out there.

If this model is useful to you please give me a five star rating and a boost!
