Description

I have now added customizable label maker if you don't want to mess with using your slicer for the text.

This is a remix of the fantastic Amazon Cereal Box Label Holder by @3DPrintBros, adapted with a nice new feature: a swiveling hinge.

This is a great all-in-one labeling system for your cereal box filament storage! This project is a comprehensive remix, inspired by the original concept of the Amazon Cereal Box Label Holder by @3DPrintBros , and has been redesigned from the ground up for maximum convenience and customization.

If you store your filament "cereal boxes" on leaned back in a traditional filament rack, you know that if you position them with the lid towards the back it can make it hard to put boxed underneath but if you position them with the lid towards the front you can't see the labels you printed.  This solves that problem of identifying filament stored leaned back in a filament rack with a pivoting hinge, and introduces a side-loading slot with newly designed, larger labels. These single-piece labels have room for all the info you need (brand, color, nozzle temp, etc.) and I have included sample labels in a print profile so you can customize!

This model comes in two options: a version that prints flat, and a version that prints on its side with a brim.

Key Features

  • Pivoting Hinge Design: The original goal of the remix! The hinge lets you see your labels perfectly even when the boxes are stored on a filament rack.
  • Convenient Side-Loading Slot: Swap labels in and out in seconds! The new holder design features a slot on the side.
  • Large, Customizable One-Piece Labels: This remix includes new, larger labels that offer more space. Add filament type, brand, color, and even ideal nozzle temperatures.
  • Snug & Secure Fit: The remixed labels feature small "nubs" on the sides that create a snug friction fit inside the holder, ensuring your labels stay put and don't slide out.
  • Optimized for Easy Printing: Both included print orientations are now easier to print.

Printing Guidance

This model is simple to print. I have provided two versions in the files so you can choose what works best for you. A pre-configured .3mf print profile is included for Bambu Studio users!

  • Filament Type: PLA or PETG (The profile is in PLA but I slightly prefer PETG)
  • Layer Height: 0.20mm (Standard)
  • Infill: 15%

Printing Options in the profile:

Option 1: Flat Orientation (No Supports, Faster)

This version is oriented flat on its back and is designed to print without any supports.

  • Pros: Faster print time, no support waste or removal hassle.
  • Cons: You will see some stringing on the bridged area. This is normal and can be cleaned up easily with your fingers.  This only occurs at the very last part of the print and is very minimal.
  • Creator's Note: This is my preferred method for its speed and simplicity

Option 2: Side Orientation (With Brim)

This version is oriented on its side.

  • Pros: Results in a slightly cleaner print with no stringing.
  • Cons: Requires a brim and is not quite as strong.

Attribution

This project is a comprehensive remix inspired by the original "Amazon Cereal Box Label Holder" by @3DPrintBros. Both the holder and the labels have been completely redesigned for this version to add new features, but full credit goes to them for the original concept that started it all!
