Description

Float valve that is mounted on the wall of a bucket or container by screwing the cover and nozzle together through a hole in the bucket. Connect the nozzle to a water reservoir to have the bucket refilled automatically. Useful for maintaining a constant water level in Kratky hydroponics systems.

It is necessary to put a ~2mm thick piece of silicone tape on the float where it hits the back of the nozzle so the valve doesn't leak.

The hole in the bucket should be 1 cm in diameter. Put the distance on the nozzle from the inside of the bucket before screwing on the cover. I waterproof the bucket with some vaseline between the nozzle and the bucket and tighten the nozzle with a pair of pliers.

The float is tricky to get waterproof. I print in PETG with extra line width and wall overlap, and also 1.05 flow ratio and 265 degree nozzle temperature.

The nozzle can also be hard to print because it doesn't always stick that well to the print bed. I find that a thick initial layer (0.4 mm) helps the brim stick. I have also had more success when printing one object at a time.
