Legality:

Yes, raised (or 3D) letters are legal on UK number plates, as long as they meet all other legal requirements for number plate display. These requirements include using the correct font (Charles Wright 2001), character height (79mm), width (50mm), and spacing (11mm between characters). The characters must also be a single, uniform shade of black if the plate was fitted after September 1, 2021

• 3D or 4D number plates, which feature raised letters, are permitted as long as they adhere to the standard regulations regarding font, size, spacing, and color. 
• Font and Spacing:
  The standard font for UK number plates is the Charles Wright 2001 font. The height of the characters should be 79mm, with a width of 50mm, and there should be 11mm of space between each character. 
• Color and Reflectivity:
  If your number plate was fitted after September 1, 2021, the characters must be a single, uniform shade of black. The characters should also not be reflective.
