A small recipe for perfect butter cookies:
Ingredients (for approx. 30–40 pieces):
- 250 g flour (Type 405)
- 125 g cold butter (cubed)
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 egg (size M)
- 1 pinch of salt
- Optional: ½ tsp cinnamon or lemon zest
Preparation:
- Mix flour, sugar, vanilla sugar & salt in a bowl.
- Add cold butter and egg, quickly knead everything into a smooth dough.
- Wrap in cling film and let rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to approx. 5 mm thickness, use your cutter to cut out shapes.
- Bake at 175 °C (top/bottom heat) for 8–10 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
