Description

This is a bicycle handlebar-mounted gyro with suspension system that keeps your drink perfectly upright - even over rocks and little drops! By combining a two-axis gyro with a miniaturized spring‐damped suspension, it isolates the can or cup from every bump and twist on rough roads. There are 3 models attached, each of which is print in place with minimal support. There are also 2 models with different diameters of bicycle handlebars, however each diameter was increased by 6mm to glue the rubber to it for a stronger grip with the handlebars.

I tested this gyro on trails and forest paths and it was a pretty successful experience, however it fits best in an urban environment, and it looks like a very technological and modern addition to your bike. It is most suitable for hot summer days and nice, active rides!

Genuinely hilarious, was not expecting this to work as well as it does. Printed mine in some PLA-CF to improve stiffness as I was worried about the inner parts coming out under load.

how did the PLA-CF work in comparison, I’m wondering if I should get some first

Honestly I think you'd be fine with regular PLA, maybe up the wall count and top and bottom surface thickness if you want to improve stiffness a bit. If I was going to print it again I'd maybe use some of the Tinmorry PETG-GF I have on hand but that stuff is hardly any more expensive than regular PLA.

Printing through mobile app or through Bambu studio I noticed the spring has missing geometry and not able to get it to print correctly. Preparing the print everything looks fine but when slicing the print that’s when the geometry goes missing on the spring walls

Might need to be a higher resolution for it to print correctly. I’ve noticed when I simply the model more, more holes are made

I had the same issue with both sizes.

Set Wall generator to Arachne and the spring should print fine with a .4 nozzle

I will try but the only difficult part is to slide gyro thing into the frame, you just need to put frame part into the space in gyro and than rotate it to fix in place.
