ORBchid Fabulous Orchid Planter

I love designing, and I love orchids.  When the two of these meet, well, this happens.s

This is a beautiful 2 part design for an orchid.   

Goals:

1. Provide a unique and beautiful way to display your favorite orchid
2. Mimic nature.  Orchids, in particular phalaenopsis orchids are often “leaning” to a side, and they perch from a tree in the wild.
3. Clean and Contemporary Aesthetic
4. Provide ventilation that orchids need to thrive

I planted this orchid using pre-moistened sphagnum moss.  I lined most of the interior of the planter with moss, and then added bark chips. The moss helps hold some moisture, and helps hold the bark in place.

This model includes a stand.   And the planter can be beautifully displayed by hanging.

I've used PLA, but PETG may be more suitable, especially if placed outdoors.  Also keep in mind that the moisture may make the planter itself decompose more quickly, but I anticipate a few years use from my PLA model.    

Print at 100% for a “large” model.   Scale down to 60% for a “small” planter.   And 70-80% for a medium sized planter.

Please remember that a commercial license is needed, for uses of the printed models other than personal use.
