Description

A mower blade balancer designed to fit :

  • Cub Cadet RZT and Pro Z mower blades with a 6 star (RZT) or a 19.5mm (Pro Z) mounting hole
  • Husqvarna Z254F and some Craftsman blades

May fit other mower blades.

Leave a comment with blade hole measurements if you would like an adapter to fit your particular blade.

Requires two 608zz bearings and two 18mm x 3mm neodymium magnets. Make sure to clean the bearings in mineral sprits or degreaser to ensure they spin very freely.

The blade is held in place with the two magnets which are a friction fit in the blade holder & held in place with a couple of drops of superglue.

The bearings are a friction fit into the two bearing holders.

Push the axle into the bearings being careful to hold both bearing holders, so as not to exert too much pressure on them.

Attach the blade holder to the axle using some superglue.

There are two screw holes on the base to enable mounting or it can be clamped to a workbench or table.

How to use the balancer:

  • Sharpen the lawn mower blade on both sides.
  • Fit blade on the balancer. Be sure that the blade is centered. The blade is held securely with the magnets.
  • If one side of the blade is heavier, this side will face downwards.
  • Take off the blade and resharpen the heavier side of the blade to remove some material.
  • Repeat procedure beginning from step 2 until the blade is balanced out.

UPDATE 06/06/2026 - Added a test print profile for confirmation of correct size blade hole for John Deere blades

Hi maxv First - excellent work on this. Nice design and print on the body I am looking for help to get an adaptor to fit the following: Oregon 92-616 G3 Gator Blades What is the best way to get measurements so they are usable and able to be converted to a blade holder for the body?

I have uploaded a new print profile with three test models. One should hopefully match the star pattern of your blade. Print them off and let me know which one come closest (or not at all!) and what you think needs to be adjusted for a good fit.
