Description

The stench of decay hangs heavy in the air, emanating from a bottomless shaft in the centre of the room

The Well of Doom

The party steps into a chamber shrouded in gloom, its centerpiece a yawning chasm—the Well of Doom. Faint whispers seem to rise from its depths, curling like smoke around the edges of reason.

Barbarian (peering over the edge, squinting):
"Echoes... or ghosts? Only one way to find out!"
He cups his hands around his mouth and bellows into the abyss:
"HELLOOOOOOOO!"

The sound ricochets through the chamber like a drunken ogre in a pottery shop.

Elf (wincing, ears twitching):
"Subtlety, thy name is not barbarian."

Bek the Dwarf (grumbling, arms crossed):
"By Grungni’s beard, are you daft? You don’t shout into cursed holes! That’s how you get cursed! Or eaten! Or cursed and then eaten!"

Wizard (rubbing temples):
"Why do I even bother preparing spells when our strategy is ‘yell and hope for the best’?"

Barbarian (shrugging, unapologetic):
"Just making sure it’s not haunted. Ghosts hate loud noises."

Elf (dryly):
"Yes, and dark elves love them."

From the shadows, as if summoned by the barbarian’s thunderous greeting, figures emerge—sleek, sinister, and armed to the teeth. Dark elves, their eyes gleaming with cruel delight, step forward with blades drawn and smiles that promise pain.

Bek (gripping his axe):
"Well done, lad. You didn’t find ghosts—you invited knife-eared nightmares to tea."

Barbarian (grinning, cracking his knuckles):
"Good. I was getting bored of smashing things that squeak."

Wizard (staff glowing, voice rising):
"Let them come! I’ve spells for every shade of arrogance!"

Elf (nocking an arrow, calm as ever):
"Try not to fall into the well while you’re being heroic."

Steel sings, spells crackle, and the Well of Doom bears witness to yet another chapter of chaos, bravado, and questionable decision-making.

This is one of my earlier creations for WHQ (war hammer quest) based on the 1995 table top game by Games Workshop  (when I say one of my earlier ones, it was only a few months ago  haha)

For the centre grate I had a bunch of (not sure what it would be called) stringy parts that I was cleaning up with my x-acto knife when I thought about using some heat to clean it up a bit.  I didn't have a lighter (since I don't smoke) so used a match.   it melted a bit more than I intended but i really liked the look so took another match to melt the grating a bit more to make it look like something had busted out.

if you do not want that look you could skip that step and maybe add some support under it.

there is a bottom plate to cover the hold so you can't see through the model.   maybe when I complete the other board pieces I will go back and make some adjustments.  I would love to set up some type of LED light for the hole and use a yellow or maybe green light.

I am still planning to add a chain to drop down the sewer. I went to a thrift shop and purchased the cheapest bracelet I could find that had some of the silver plating rubbed off (kinda looks like it is rusty)

This was printed with Bambu Matte Ash Grey using a .2mm nozzle with .06mm layer height.  feel free to adjust the settings or use a .4mm nozzle, thou I would still print with a .1mm layer height or even a .08mm (will give a warning but will print fine)

More pieces to come

While there is nothing I can do to prevent it,  This model is not to be sold commercially without written permission by myself.
