Simple fruit fly trap for Ikea jars or similar sizes.
Simply place some ripe fruit in the jar and put the adapter on top. The fruit flies are attracted by the smell and fly in but cannot get out. Alternatively, some vinegar mixed with water and a little dish soap can be used, though this will drown the flies
Once the flies are in the jar, simply release them outdoors
The adapter fits loosely as there are various sizes of Ikea jars
