Description
I recently set out to design a stylish and functional holder for my electronic cigarette, with the added twist of integrating a compartment for my e-liquid. The concept was inspired by the classic pipe silhouette—something that could discreetly hold both my Elfbar MATE500 and a DinnerLady Nic Salts cartridge, while adding a touch of elegance to the experience. In fact, when using it, no one can quite tell whether I'm smoking a pipe or an e-cigarette 😄
The main design challenge was the rather large size of the e-liquid cartridge, which didn’t quite fit neatly into a single form factor. To solve this, I split the holder into two distinct sections: one to cradle the e-cigarette, and another to house the e-liquid (complete with a cap). You can choose to insert the e-liquid for full functionality, or leave the compartment empty for a cleaner, more aesthetic.
Functionally, the design holds both components securely and upright with no tipping over. That said, if you leave the e-liquid compartment empty, the center of mass shifts toward the heavier e-cigarette side, which may affect balance slightly.
I printed the holder in PLA Wood filament. My e-liquid and the e-cigarette sit perfectly with a smooth fit.If you're using a different material, be aware that surface roughness might affect the tolerances
The design prints support-free, although I typically use a 5 mm outer brim for extra stability.
