It’s based on the same design as the Slim model but with a much deeper base and extra space for your charger, additional Joy-Cons, or up to two Pro Controllers.

💡 The lid is exactly the same as on this Slim version — so if you already printed this model, you can upgrade to the XXL base without reprinting the lid!

News 11th September 2025 — Switch 2 Case V2 available

Thanks to everyone who printed the model and shared suggestions—this update focuses on your feedback.

What’s new?

• Wrist-strap retainers added
  Two optional inserts (found on Plate 3) slot into the base V2 to keep the strap/loop (“dragonne”) neatly in place.
• Joy-Con bays refined
  Reworked contours improve retention and help prevent accidental button presses during transport.
• Screw ports redesigned
  New hole geometry reduces the number of rotations needed when fastening.
  Install screws from the outside toward the inside.

🧷 The console locks in place with a custom clip that prints separately for strength and versatility.

• Print the clip on its side for better layer adhesion
• Consider PETG or ABS for more durability
• Easy to replace if ever needed

🛡️ Worried about scratches? No need!

• The screen never touches the securing mechanism – it’s completely safe.
• Once inserted, the console doesn’t move at all inside the box.
• You can press the locking rod (① on the photo) manually when inserting or removing the console to avoid any friction. And even if it touches slightly, it slides perfectly along the print layers.
• Still concerned? You can:
  • Print part ① in a softer material like TPU
  • Add small pieces of foam tape or felt to the support notches (② on the photo)

I’ve tested this with my own Switch 2 and found zero marks or scratches – it’s safe and solid for everyday use! 👍
