Description
I designed this for our son's beardie, Chai, to have as enrichment. I wanted something a little nicer looking than a standard plastic box. It holds probably about 25 lbs of sand, I used two 10 lb bags of Australian sand substrate and it could hold more.
The box with hammock attachment uses the better part of 2 rolls of filament. I used PETG since I have it under the heat lamp, it's held up well so far for the last 4 months. Print at 50% speed, I found out the hard way you can NOT rush PETG.
The pieces of the box should be glued together, and I've included strips to glue over the seams for additional reinforcement in those areas. On the hammock pieces I've added a square tab that is to be cut off after printing, since the thin edge at the top was having trouble printing without it.
You will need some sewing skills for the hammock, I don't have a pattern for it but it's not too difficult to figure out if you (or a friend or family) are proficient with a sewing machine.
