🎲 Keezen Rules (2 or 4 Players)

Goal: Get all 4 of your pawns safely into your home base. Use playing cards instead of dice for movement. In 4-player mode, play in teams (partners sit opposite).

🔧 Setup

  • Use a 52-card deck
  • Deal each player 3 hands per round: first 5 cards, then 4, then 4 again
  • You need an Ace or King to move a pawn from your start area to the board

▶️ Turn Structure

  • Play 1 card per turn
  • If you can’t use any cards, discard the remaining hand and skip the rest of the round
  • Cards perform specific actions:
CardAction
AceStart or move 1 step forward
KingStart a pawn
QueenMove 12 steps forward
JackSwap one of your pawns with another (unless it's in a safe zone)
7Split 7 steps over 1 or 2 pawns
4Move 4 steps backward
2–10 (except 7)Move forward the shown number of steps

🛡️ Additional Rules

  • You must play a card if possible
  • Exact count is needed to enter the home stretch
  • Pawns can be bumped back to start if landed on
  • Start positions are safe: no bumping or swapping allowed
  • In team play (4 players), help your partner only after all your own pawns are home
  • No talking or sharing cards allowed during play
