Description

Find this model interesting? Like the idea? BOOST ME! I greatly appreciate it. This is the best way to show appreciation and it doesnt even cost you anything!

This was my wifes idea to design this.

How this idea came up:

The kids in our neighborhood constantly play “Among Us”. Its the newest/most hippest version of tag currently. The local adult always got asked to assign roles to each kid, and we'd have to remember who was what each round so that everyone gets to play both roles at somepoint over the rounds. The kids would run up to me, rudely interrupt my beer drinking and sport tv watching, and DEMAND me (nicely) to assign them each roles by whispering what role they have in their ear. As you can imagine, this got annoying. We needed a solution. The solution : AMONG US DRAWSTICKS!

Rules of the game:

  1. Put all the drawsticks in the container, one drawstick for each child thats playing.  Most of the kids will be “crewmates” and one or more (depending on the amount of kids playing and how many imposters/taggers they want) get the “imposter” role. Put the drawsticks with the roles facing the bottom of the container so you cant see the role each kid draws.
  2. Mix/shake the container to mix up the drawsticks randomly.
  3. Have each kid one by one pick a drawstick out of the container randomly. This is the childs role for that round.
  4. If you got the crewmate role, run like hell! Hide, run, jump, skip and spread out! Your job is to not get tagged/eliminated
  5. If you got the imposter role, be sneaky and tactical. Your job is to tag/eliminate all the crewmate players. You are allowed (and SUPPOSED TO) lie to everyone and pretend you are a crewmate just like them. Convince them you are one of them so that you can get close enough to them to easily tag/eliminate them quickly!
  6. After the imposter catches/tags/eliminates all the crewmates, put all the drawsticks back in the container, mix the container up and have them 1 by one grab their new roles for the next round.
  7. Have fun and do it all over again!

I printed 2 imposter drawsticks and the rest are crewmates. Usually the kids around here play with 1 imposter, sometimes they decide to have 2 if theres alot of kids playing. In the print profile, just clone the amount of crewmate and imposter drawsticks you need for your typical group. As an example, we have about 8 kids that play this, so I would use 1 imposter drawstick and 7 crewmate drawsticks. Print extra incase more kids come over to play, its nice to have extra ones.

However many kids are playing is how many drawsticks total you should use, with however many for each role the kids want to play with.

This has eliminated the need for us parents, needing to assign roles and therefore we can continue to gossip about the weird neighbros, drink our alcoholic beverages, and watch our sports in peace!! All while giving the kids a fun game to play and get energy out with.

Very easy print, container closes nicely and sticks fit in the container very well. I purposely made the sticks the size they are so that if you screw the cap on tightly, the sticks shouldnt move and make noise in the container. When you are shaking the container/sticks up, dont tighten the cap all the way and theres plenty of room for the sticks to move around and mix up.

Like i mentioned before, print a couple imposter draw sticks and the rest should be crewmates. We typically use 1 mposter in each round, the rest are crewmates!

Please comment, rate and boost this model if you enjoy it! I use the boost points to trade in for bambu gift cards and then use the giftcards on filament. It helps offset the cost of all the trial and error prints that i go through when designing or trying new things!

Have fun!

UPDATE 6.17.25

Just uploaded a HIDE AND SEEK variant to the original project. Changed the cap to say Hide & Seek and the drawsticks to say “Hider” and “Seeker” in the second profile listed! Everything else remained the same.

UPDATE 6.18.25

Just uploaded a TEAM PICKER variant to the original project. Changed the cap to say Teams and the drawsticks to say 1, 2, 3, 4. If you only need 2 teams, delete drawstick 3 and 4 and close however many you need of 1 and 2! Use case for this is if you need to make random teams in gym class. Print however many of #1 and #2, have the kids randomly draw them out of the container, if they get stick with a 1 on it, they are on 1 team, if they pulled a #2, they are on team 2.

Great idea! definitely want to print this for ourselves. Tried it twice but unfortunately the A1 Mini fails on part of the container and just creates filament chaos...🥺

I printed with the numbers. I’m not sure what I did or didn’t do but the top was not smooth at all. It has a basket woven feel. Is that what it should be? Still cute!
