Description

Designed for ease of printing, portability, and of course, comfort, this V shaped grip houses the Joy-Con 2 nicely and provides a similar snappy feel to connecting the controllers to the console with the help of 8 magnets! Several models are included for varying magnet sizes and additional versions are on the way as well. Supports are not required and a 3MF file is provided to print the model instantly, taking only around an hour to print!

Current List of Compatible Magnets:

  • 8 x 3 mm (8 mm diameter, 3 mm thickness) (recommended)
  • 8 x 2 mm (8 mm diameter, 2 mm thickness) (recommended)
  • 6 x 3 mm (6 mm diameter, 3 mm thickness)
  • 6 x 2 mm (6 mm diameter, 2 mm thickness)
  • 5 x 3 mm (5 mm diameter, 3 mm thickness)
  • 5 x 2 mm (5 mm diameter, 2 mm thickness)

Printing Instructions:

  • Choose the model according to the dimensions of the magnets you have (all the models are structurally the same aside from the magnet slot sizes)
  • Print model in the upside down orientation (it should form the letter V)
  • No supports are required!

Assembly Instructions:

  • Apply an adhesive, e.g. super glue, on each magnet slot.
  • Insert 8 magnets into the slots. Either orientation/polarity works and will attract the Joy-Cons either way.
  • Wait 10-15+ minutes for adhesive to dry and you're done!
  • Note: strength of the grip connection depends on the magnet. I recommend using the larger magnet options if you can for the best results!

Additional Notes:

  • The magnets I use are linked here, available on Amazon.
  • Different printers and materials have different dimensional accuracies, so if the fit on this model is too loose/tight it is recommended to scale the model accordingly. I recommend adjusting by +/- 0.5% scale and going from there :)
