Description

Introducing my latest and greatest model yet! 🥁🥁🥁 An RC car Stand. Before I get into the introduction I just wanted to say that this took me awhile to make so I would greatly appreciate if you give it a like, save, comment, download, or if your feeling extra generous a boost. 

 

I recently got an RC car and let me just say that is one of the best decisions I have ever made! It is a blast to mess around with and I have already had so much fun. And I think it is always super fun to mix one hobby with another so I decided to create something for my RC car. While I was doing some research on what I should make I stumbled upon the idea of creating a stand. It is very functional and would be a nice design challenge. So I checked some 3d printing websites to get an idea of what was already made and to see if there were any models that I could use instead. And to my surprise I didn't find any models that fitted my needs. There were a couple that came close and I'm not putting shade on any other models. But I wanted something that had 3 things: 

 

  1. A low filament cost
  2. A refined design
  3. Storage Space

So I set out to make the perfect RC car Stand (At least for me). And here it is!

 

This RC car Stand has a nice smooth and refined design due to fillets, the overall shaping, and the fact that it was designed in Fusion360. It fits on all Bambu Lab printers and any printer with a bed plate size of 150x150x110 or bigger.  It took me about 5 hours to perfect the design of this model but it was definitely worth it. It only uses about 115 grams due to the hexagonal pattern on the platform and the overall small nature. I know 115 grams is definitely a lot more filament than a simple Benchy. But compared to other RC car models that's a pretty solid number. The base of the platform has four smooth inlets to store whatever your heart desires (screws, hex keys, etc.) . The 2 parts connect simply by pressing together. However, this is a tight tolerance so I would only recommend only using highly precise printers (a.k.a. Bambu Lab printers) to make this model. Of course if the tolerance is too loose or too tight you can scale it accordingly to fit the needs of your printer or you can also glue it for extra rigidness. This model is designed around the size of the 1/14 scale Arrma Typhon 223S GROM but I think it could fit most RC cars with a scale from 1/10-1/16. However, I cannot guarantee that It will fit any other scale of RC cars because I don't have any other RC cars of different proportions and every RC car is different. Of course if you want to you could scale this to fit bigger RC cars but keep in mind you would have to scale both the base and platform so the tolerances are still correct. 

 

Print Settings:

 

Infill Pattern: Gyroid (This is one of the most structurally sound filaments.

Support: No 

Infill Density: 15%
