Bakugan Silent Naga - Multicolor, Custom Supports
Print Profile(2)

Description
This is a remix of NoShayminFeeding's excellent model of Silent Naga, the anime-exclusive villain from Bakugan Battle Brawlers season 1. I had been struggling for quite some time to find support/orientation settings that helped stabilize the many intricate features of this model while retaining dimensional accuracy, and any auto-generated supports resulted in wayyyy too much scarring and detail loss for my liking. So, I took to Fusion 360 and designed my own custom supports that aimed to achieve the three following criteria:
1.) allowed the parts to be oriented in a manner that minimized visible layer lines (especially over crucial details) and encouraged maximum strength
2.) were easy to remove by hand or with flush cutters (at least compared to auto-generated tree/normal supports) and required minimal cleanup, or at the very least did not require cleanup in the most crucial detail-heavy areas
3.) did not make contact with too many fragile areas of the model or areas where crisp definition between different colors is necessary in order to allow the Bambu A1 Mini (my printer of choice) to have the best chance at recreating this design in the highest fidelity
I personally am very happy with the results of this process, but I'm sure my solution is nowhere near perfect. NoShayminFeeding's model was not designed with FDM printing in mind, so trying to achieve resin-like results with a model that demands both extremely fine detail and near-perfect dimensional accuracy in order to function was a very fun challenge, but I was certainly fighting an uphill battle here. My custom in-built supports are admittedly a bit over-engineered in spots and potentially a bit unintuitive for anyone other than myself to remove, so i intend to make a visual guide on the best way to remove them at some point.
I also added multicolor painting for use with the AMS system, but that part was much easier lol. I used Babmbu PLA Basic filament in Jade White, Purple, and Magenta in my personal print. Feel free to print this yourself with my settings/supports and give me your feedback!! I love Bakugan and the creativity that a subset of the fandom brings to the legacy franchise, and I hope to contribute in making the fruits of that creativity more accessible to the FDM printing world!! I also am working on a couple of my own Bakugan models, as well as custom supported/multicolor profiles for existing models, so stay tuned for those. Huge props to NoShayminFeeding again for making this model in the first place; refer to their original model page for tips on assembly and sourcing pins/springs/screws, etc. Happy printing and happy brawling!! See ya soon :D
